About Us

How did we begin?

Sudley Road School was opened in 1904. It was designed and constructed as a temporary building using mainly corrugated iron. Over a hundred scholars, of various ages, attended. In those days you had to pay fees to go to school, as an Infant you’d have paid 1d per week!

Although temporary the building lasted until the 1960s when the present building replaced it. This has since also been added to.

Centenary celebrations were held in October 2004 when many past pupils visited and entertained the children and staff with stories about ‘the old days’.
