Owls

Welcome to Owls class page

We are a Year 2 class

Our class teacher is

Miss Muchmore

What an interesting time we are having this half term, we have been learning about the Water Cycle and the children were pleased to be learning some new scientific words and creating there own water cycle posters.

Owls have also been learning about the story of The Twits, we  wrote character descriptions about Mr and Mrs Twit, enjoyed listening to the story and all agreed that we wouldn't like to visits the Twits house for tea.

Owls are now learning about castles, we have considered how castles have changed over time and looked at the history of castles.  We have also researched different parts of a castle and found out their names and what they were used for. We are looking forward to learning more about castles in the near future.

This week we are learning about  France, we are going to be making our own books about France which will include French facts, writing the names of colours in French, finding France on a map and learning about the countries  that are close to France and finding out about the history of the French flag. We are also going to make French Toast during our science lesson and learn about different materials and how they change when we add heat to them, we can then taste the food -   mmmmm yummy !

Welcome back to Owls

Well Done to all the Owls, you have all settled in to Year 2 and are working hard.

Our new topic is Underground, we have also been learning about The Great Fire of London and our science focus for this half term  is Animals and their Habitats.
