Our class teacher is Miss Gill

Hello Robins,

 

We have enjoyed learning about the different things that grow and change. We loved looking at our baby photographs and trying to guess who was who. Well done to everyone who took part in the garden competition they all looked fabulous and so much hard work had been put in to them. Next week we will be looking at how plants grow and what they need.  We will also be visiting St Anne's Church to have a look around on Monday, please send your child to school with a waterproof coat.

 

If you can help on our trip to Chester zoo please let me know.

Hi Robins,

 

We have been busy the last couple of weeks we really enjoyed our Samba Bamba session and scooter training. 

We have loved our topic special clothes and looking at different types of clothes people wear for different occasions and jobs. This week we are looking at 'Our World' we have written what we like about our city and why Liverpool is a fabulous place to live. We have enjoyed finding different countries on a map of the world and looking on Google Earth. 

 

Next week our topic is Music and Art. We will be making musical shakers and doing some art work in the style of Matisse.

Hi Robins,

 

We have been very busy this week I have loved looking at all of your family albums they are wonderful! I have enjoyed getting to know you all better. The children have loved sharing them and painting a picture of their family. 

 

We have been busy practising for our Spanish assembly on Thursday I hope to see lots of you there. 

 

We will be making banana on toast on Monday using fairtrade bananas. We are learning about Egypt this week.

Hello Robins,

 

We have really enjoyed looking at different types of houses/homes. We all made a junk model house and painted a picture of our own home. We loved going on a walk around school and identifying the different types of houses we had learnt about. We have loved learning about the story of The Three Little Pigs. The big bad wolf had hidden one of the pigs so we all made wanted posters to try and find him. We enjoyed learning the little pigs rap and singing along to it using instruments. 

Next week we will be learning about 'toys' you can bring in your favourite toy from home on Monday 23.1.17 please don't bring in any expensive or electric toys.

World Book Day 2017

World Book Day 2017 1

Hello Robins,

 

What a busy few weeks we have had. Well done to all the children I was so proud of how well they all did in the Christmas show they all performed brilliantly, am sure you all enjoyed it. 

 

We have been very lucky and had a visit from the reindeer and Santa and the blow up grotto. We even got some presents to play with in our classroom thank you to SIPFA. We are looking forward to our Christmas party on Tuesday 20th December, remember to send party clothes into school in a bag for the afternoon. 

 

I hope you all have a lovely Christmas and all the children get a visit from Santa on Christmas eve. 

 

After Christmas our topic is homes please send in any boxes to use to make junk model houses.

Sports morning with parents

Walk round different types of houses

 

Hello Robins,

 

What a busy week we have had we all enjoyed 'anyone but the parents' thank you to all family and friends who came in to our class and helped join in all our Christmas craft activities. We had great fun.  We have enjoyed learning the story of the very first Christmas and why some people celebrate Christmas. 

 

Next week we have got the reindeer coming to visit us and a blow up grotto we are very excited. We also have the Wizard of Oz pantomime on Friday.

Hello Robins,

 

This week we have enjoyed listening to the 'Under the sea' song from the Little Mermaid film. We have all made junk model boats the children loved using all of the materials they had brought in from home to do this. We enjoyed reading the story of 'Tiddler' the story telling fish. 

 

We have started going through our lines for the Christmas show in groups please keep learning your lines at home. 

 

Next week we will be reading the story 'Olly the Octopus' looking at 3d shapes and investigating floating and sinking.

Hi Robins,

 

We have enjoyed learning about bonfire night and looking at how we can stay safe around fireworks and bonfires. The children all made a firework picture. We read the story 'The Fidgety Fish' and did lots of different activities and some writing about the story. The children enjoyed learning the bobbing in the sea song. 

Next week we will be looking at creatures that live under the sea. We will learn the song 'Yellow Submarine'

 

If your child has lines int Christmas show they are in their book bag please help them to learn them at home.

Hello Robins,

 

What a fantastic day we have had. We have had the animal lady in this morning showing us different animals and telling us facts about them, we even got to stroke them. We had Sarah from the Whitechapel centre come in to talk to us about the charity and the work they do and we had our charities assembly this afternoon. The children sang beautifully. Well done to you all on raising £489.60. 

 

Have a a lovely half term can't wait to hear about what you have all been upto in the holidays.

Visit from Sarah from the Whitechapel Centre

Hello Robins,

 

This week we have been learning about Roger Hargreaves. The children have enjoyed bringing in mr men and little miss books for us to read. We have all painted our favourite character from the books. We enjoyed our P.E lesson learning how to balance beanbags on different parts of our body. Next week we will be looking at our charity 'The Whitechapel Centre' a representative from the charity will be coming in to talk to the children. Don't forget it's the charity assembly at 2.00pm on Friday 21st October please send in all sponsor money next week.

Toys to school for £1 for charity

Hello Robins,

This week we have been learning all about bugs. The children have enjoyed learning facts about insects and reading stories with bug characters. We really liked 'The Bad Tempered Ladybird.' On Thursday we did our sponsored bug hunt on the outdoor play area the children loved it and were so excited when they found the pictures of the different bugs. Please send in money and sponsor forms as soon as children have collected it in. I have spoken to the children about 'The Whitechapel Centre' and what the charity does to help homeless people. Sarah from the charity is going to come in and talk to the children on Friday 21st October before the charities assembly. Next week we will be looking at the author Roger Hargreaves and learning facts about him and reading some of his stories.

Hello Robins,

 

We have enjoyed school this week and been very busy. We have looked at all the leaves the children have been collecting on the way to school and we will be using these in our art work next week. We read the story 'The Leaf Man' the children really enjoyed it we think we even found a leaf man rustling in one of our bags! 

 

We really enjoyed the music workshop on Thursday we sang a bug song and played drums see photographs below. We liked learning the bounce the teddy song and talking about sharing and taking turns. We had fun in P.E balancing bean bags on different parts of our bodies and trying hard not to drop them. 

 

A few reminders don't forget to bring reading books to school everyday and library books on a Thursday. Our topic next week is 'Bugs' and we are really lucky that Mrs Brown is coming in to talk to us and show us some exciting things.                

 

Robins will be supporting the Whitechapel Centre charity. Details will be going home in book bags.

Hello Robins, 

 

We have had a busy week, we all managed to get changed for P.E. Don't forget to keep practising at home. We have all been on a tour around school and seen all

the different classrooms and met all the staff in school. All the children have got the letter sounds we have done this week in their book bags don't forget to go over them at home! 

On your way to school don't forget to collect leaves next week. We will be looking at signs of autumn and looking at the book the leaf man.

We have been very busy this week learning all our new school routines. The children have done so well coming in on their own of a morning. Next week our topic is 'New Faces, New Places' we will all be painting a self portrait and meeting all the other staff in school. 

 

Our class P.E days will be Tuesday and Friday please make sure all the children have their kits in school. We have library on Thursdays.
