We have Library every Thursday.

Please make sure your child's reading book and reading record book are brought to school each day.

What a busy term we have had.  Wider World Week was such fun!  We learned about different countries.  Our focus was on Italy.  We made collage pizza,  bolognaise and carnival masquerade masks.  Learning about Vesuvius and Etna lit the imagination and we had some wonderful volcanoes from home.  Thanks to Jack and Gabriel for sharing their superb models!  We also had wonderful dual language stories in Italian,  thanks to Mrs Costello and Paolo, French from Madame Kolvik and Slovak with Mrs Vidamour and Emma.  What an experience for the Sparrows.

We have been busy developing our independent writing skills with a variety of stories and activities.  Making circuits in our science lesson was so exciting.  Painting in the style of Kandinsky has highlighted the many wonderful artists in Sparrows class!

Our trip to Chester Zoo was so much fun  and very hot. Some of the animals were very sleepy as were the children at the end of the day.   Thank you so much to our parent helpers, we couldn't have done it without you!  To celebrate the Queen's sapphire jubilee we painted portraits of the Queen and had our own coronation ceremony.

Summer term has been very busy.  During Healthy Living Week we have been learning lots and lots about keeping ourselves healthy.  The children designed and made a lettuce, cucumber, radish and mixed pepper salad with a honey and balsamic dressing.  We learned how to look after out teeth and scooted to school.  The visit from the mobile farm was so exciting as the children were able to groom and pet the animals.

What a busy last day of half term!

We had so many visitors in school it was unbelievable! In the morning the Animal Lady brought in some of herbeautiful animals. She told us lots of facts about her tawny owl, snake, lizard, chinchilla and even her falcon. We also got to pet these animals and see them up close (look at our poictures down below!).

Then in the afternoon we had a visit from Pat. Pat works for Marie Curie and she told us all about what they do and what the momey we had raised for them will go towards. We all enjoyed the Charity Assembly were we showed off all the new songs we had learnt.

Thank you to all the parents who sent in donations for Marie Curie and thank you to all the parents and friends who attened the Charity Assembly.

We've had a busy few weeks in the Sparrows class. We've all been enjoying reading our new reading books and have practised sounding out lots of words using the new sounds we have learnt in class. We even had time to squeeze in a visit from Mrs Brown who taught us all about bugs and minibeasts which we could find in our garden or the park.

The Sparrows have been so busy over the last few weeks! We've started to learn our letter sounds (s, a, t, p, i, n) and have been practising them each day. We have started our new school reading books as well and all the Sparrows are trying their very best with them!

Thank you for bringing in all of the lovely Autumn leaves and conkers, the children have enjoyed talking about where they found them and comparing them to each other's.

We have had such a busy first week in Sudley Infants. All of the Sparrows have had so much fun playing on the Outdoor Area and with all the super games in our classrooms. We have all made some fantastic sparrow artwork using paints and brushes.
