Sparrows Class Page
We are a Reception Class
Our teachers are Mrs Morris
and Miss Parsons.
We have PE on a Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
Please make sure your child's reading book and reading record book are brought to school each day.
Welcome to our new Sparrows.
We have had a wonderful first day in school and are starting to get to know each other.
The children have been fantastic!
Thank you to all our parents and we look forward to a super year together.
This week we will be learning about our class bird. If you find any information about sparrows, please send it in to school and we would love to share it with the class!

Take a look at our wonderful paintings of our class bird.
We are artists!
We would like to say a big thank you to one of our Grandads for a fantastic powerpoint of the different types of birds. We really enjoyed looking through all of the birds and learning about their habitats.
The sparrows class think you are an amazing photographer!
We really enjoyed looking in the mirror and noticing that we are all unique!
We enjoyed visiting the different classrooms around school. Meeting new children and staff was great because now we know everyone's faces!
Today it was very rainy outside, so we decided to have a picnic in our classroom at playtime.
We ate carrots and drank ice cold milk.
Watching Kipper the Dog was so much fun!
Today we had a special visitor to our school. Who just like us, came to our school and is now all grown up.
We had lots of fun looking at fantastic videos and pictures of her performing at the Cirque Du Soleil in America.
Lots of us want to be gymnasts when we grow up!
Thank you for visiting us, we loved it
Library is on Thursday.
Please remember to return your books either on or before library day.
We completed Joe Wicks 'Fit in 15' session.
It was very fun but, we were so tired after it!
We love learning about keeping our bodies fit and healthy, as it helps our brains learn new things throughout the day
Today, Jill Reynolds came to visit us and brought along some of her lovely friends.
We learnt lots of facts about different animals, what they eat and where they live. We even got to meet (and stroke) Tango the snake, Solo the leopard kitten and many more.
It was brilliant!
Thank you for coming in to visit us, we loved it and look forward to seeing you again!
We used shaped sponges and different coloured paints to create our very own patterns.
We are getting really good at remembering what comes next!
Nicole McIlveen, who is the Fundraising Manager from Macmillan Cancer Support came to visit us. She thanked us for completing our sponsored walk to raise money for others in need.
We learnt lots about what Macmillan nurses do to help people who are poorly and how much we have helped them be able to continue with their very important jobs!
All of the children are very proud of what they have completed (we are too!)
We would like to thank all parents, carers, family and friends of our wonderful sparrows for being so kind and supporting the children for this wonderful charity.
Thank you for a lovely half-term!
We have enjoyed getting to know every child in the super sparrows and we are looking forward to the next half-term.
We hope you have a lovely break.
Miss Parsons, Mrs Morris and Mrs Riding
Our new topic is... Underwater!
Following the half-term break, the children will be learning about all things underwater.
We were given two clues for each picture and had to figure out which adult in school created each picture.
We would like to thank everyone for helping the sparrows learn their lines for the Christmas show.
Can you please go through these at home as much as possible.
